Entry 1. In The Rear View 2020

The state of the world was chaotic this year and I spent many days in isolation, but I was not alone.  As the new year approaches, I look ahead to the opportunities before me and am thankful.  I am also thankful for the experiences in 2020 that will allow for these new opportunities by way of new connections, increased confidence and a boldness that I will embrace.

I launched SacFilmChallenge a Music & Film Festival that brought filmmakers together from 5 continents and that was well-received by audiences.  Thank you to my friend and co-director, Bex Francis, who is an amazing person and a talent that you will want to take note of.  I was introduced to livestreaming and podcasting and have new projects under development.  In 2021, look out for the Speaking of Audacity TV series where I will share the stage with my friends Princess LA and Kimberly Y. Spears as well as my new podcast The Creative Seat.  There are several film productions being planned during the year as well.  For the Love of Cinema was established, and we had a successful event for Women In Media (January 2020), hosted by Empire's Comics Vault and sponsored by Jocks, Geeks and Nerds, The Closing Credits Podcast, and Sacramento Film Project along with the Northern California Film Coalition (NCFC) and the California Film Arts Alliance (CFAA) and later formed For the Love of Cinema Presents: The Writer's Group which currently meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.  I participated in the first Quarancon hosted by our friends at SacGeeks which was special because it represented the community coming together in time when the world was dark, at the top of the pandemic and there was a lot of fear and disinformation circulating.

There will not be any do overs for 2020 but I will continue to be creative and inspired while I practice social distancing and continue to wash my hands several times of day and use a lot of hand sanitizer.
